At Matthew’s Center every student receives personalized support from Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). Our specialists conduct a range of assessments to understand each student's behavioral needs. These assessments form the foundation of a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) uniquely crafted for each student. Through daily data collection and collaboration with the student's team, we continuously evaluate and refine these plans.
Utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), we foster behavioral stability alongside academic growth for every student. ABA is a science that examines the relationship between behavior and the environment. Our approach focuses on enhancing desired behaviors while mitigating undesired ones, enabling students to excel in areas such as self-care, communication, social skills, and academics.
In managing crises and de-escalation, safety is paramount. All Matthew’s Center staff are trained in the nationally recognized crisis intervention program, Safety Care. This proactive approach prioritizes holistic interventions to maintain safety and restore a sense of control for both students and staff. Through verbal support, proximity management, and physical safety assistance when necessary, we ensure the well-being of everyone in our community.
