Welcome to Matthew’s Center, a year-round special education day school licensed by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and accredited through the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Facilities (VAISEF).

Through our partnerships with surrounding Local Education Agencies (LEAs), Matthew’s Center implements students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in their least restrictive environment. We provide a supportive and structured learning environment for students with a range of disabilities, including autism and other developmental disabilities. Our program is tailored to meet the needs of students aged 5-22 years, who exhibit self-injurious or aggressive behaviors that impede their growth academically, socially, and/or behaviorally.

Students are educated daily from 8:45am-2:30pm, Monday through Friday. Eligible students are assessed through the Virginia Alternate Assessment Program (VAAP), and students graduated from high school earning an Applied Studies Diploma.
